Guided tour through the Alte Oper

The tour ist not barrier-free and takes place in English.
An event of the Alte Oper Frankfurt in cooperation with the Gesellschaft der FREUNDE der Alten Oper Frankfurt.
The ticket price does NOT include RMV (local public transport).
Would you like to take a look at those areas of the Alte Oper that are usually closed to concert audiences? During a guided tour you can get to know the Alte Oper and learn interesting facts about its architecture and history. Volunteer guides from the ranks of our patrons' association, the Gesellschaft der FREUNDE der Alten Oper, will be happy to show you around the building and the complex procedures that are necessary to ensure that everything runs smoothly when the stars of classical music and entertainment take to the podium. We also give you a glimpse into the rooms that are otherwise hidden from the public: What technical facilities do the halls have? What does a stage manager actually do? What do the dressing rooms look like?Our guided tours, which last about 90 minutes, are open to the public on selected dates or can be booked individually as an exclusive group tour with a maximum of 20 people, coordinated with our regular concert and congress operations.
- The tours are usually held in German. In the course of 2023, individual dates will also be offered in English.
- Due to the space available, we are unfortunately unable to offer wheelchair-accessible tours.
- Should it happen that a planned tour cannot take place for organisational reasons due to last-minute changes to the Alte Oper's programme of events, the ticket price will be refunded.
- Group tours can only be booked by private individuals, not by resellers.
- The tour is not recommended for children under the age of ten.
- Please be at the stage entrance of the Alte Oper 15 minutes before the tour. Guests arriving later will unfortunately not be able to take part and will not be entitled to a replacement.
- For closed group or individual tours, the possible dates and further conditions will be agreed separately.
